Another check marked off on my list of shop goals. I’ve been a big fan of @indiangiver art and an avid collector of his prints for many years now. I’m extremely grateful and fortunate to have a one-off piece in the shop.

We chose James Dean because of his connection to the area. Story goes that he was on his way up to race in the 1st Annual Salinas Sports Car Races in order to qualify to race 17 Mile Drive in the Pebble Beach Sports Car Races. He was supposed to trailer his Porsche 550 Spyder dubbed “Little Bastard” but was advised to drive it in order to get a feel and break in the car before the races. Unfortunately he was involved in his tragic accident on his way up on what is now route 46. His movie East of Eden was based on John Steinbeck’s book about the Salinas Valley and was the only film he lived to see on the big screen.

Please let me know if anything comes up and you won’t be able to keep your scheduled appointment. I have the booking system in place to make it as convenient as possible to book, cancel or reschedule appointments. It sends text reminders when the appointment is booked, a day and an hour before. Anthony will be back in the shop on a regular basis by mid April picking up where he left off. He had to take a pause from his apprenticeship but will be back in the shop helping me out. He’ll be finishing his required hours in order to be able to test for his license. He’s been trained in-shop by me and has been to every additional course I’ve attended.
