My Story

I’ve been in the hair and beauty industry since 2009, beginning my career after earning my Cosmetology license from Paul Mitchell The School in Sacramento, CA. What started as a creative path quickly became a disciplined craft rooted in precision, structure, and attention to detail.

Wanting to expand my artistry, I moved to Los Angeles to train at Cinema Makeup School, specializing in Special Makeup Effects and Prosthetics. After graduating, I worked at M.E.L. (Makeup Effects Laboratories) in Hollywood. My work was featured in Famous Monsters of Filmland and included contributions to projects such as Power Rangers and Iron Man 3. I also received credit in The Monstrous Make-Up Manual Book 2 by Mike Spatola.

In 2014, I relocated to the Monterey Peninsula and earned my Barber license. That’s where I found my true focus. Barbering combined everything I value — technical precision, patience, and respect for tradition. I have trained alongside respected professionals in the industry and continue to invest in ongoing education to refine my craft.

In 2018, I opened Bixby Barber Co. in Carmel-by-the-Sea, CA. I opened my doors without a loan, established clientele, or a safety net — just a clear vision and a commitment to doing things the right way.

On my first day open, not one person walked in.

Today, Bixby Barber Co. is a sought-after, appointment-based barbershop with a waitlist weeks out. I built this business through consistency, resilience, and high standards. I don’t rush services. I don’t cut corners. I believe in doing things right — every time.
